Shelby's reading

Much to my surprise Shelby was recognized at school for getting all of her questions right on her tests on Accelerated Listening - it's like AR but for Kindergartner's who are not doing the AR tests yet. She and the girl next to her in the blue shirt, her friend Brigid were the only 2 who answered 100 % correctly on their tests.

Yea Shelby!!

Shelby's

This is Shelby's presidential report on Calvin Coolidge. I thought she did really great. This was my first time to post a video so I hope it turns out. Of course today, when I did not have my camera, Shelby did chapel and she recited all the presidents! She stood in front of the mic with two other kids but she was right in front of it so she was the only one you heard. She did great! She got all the presidents right. I was so proud of her!

Shelby's first Karate tournament

Shelby had her very first karate tournament today. As you can see she won. She was very proud of herself as was I. I was trying something different in placing the pictures so they are not in order. The picture at the bottom is before she went and these two are after she got back home. Of course I made her put her jacket back on so I could get her picture with her medal. Aww Mom!!

Tyler's thumb injury

I know these are gross, but just to give you an idea of what we dealt with this week. We still don't know what he did to it, but it is MUCH BETTER NOW!! We are still on antibiotics but doing so much better.

Western Day

This isn't the best picture, but here we are at school for western day!

This was Tyler's first jog a thon! I thought he did great!

Jog A Thon

Every year our school has a jog a thon to raise money for the school Shelby was the fastest runner in her class!

USS Lexington Pt. 3

Tyler sitting in something - I don't know what it is but it must be pretty interesting!

A view of the ship from the outside

These men were actually sailors on the ship

Steve taking a picture of Tyler sitting in the barber chair - Tyler looks so thrilled!

Hey, I'm ready!

USS Lexington Pt. 2

It is really windy out there!!

These are the showers that the sailors used. None of the scouts took showers while they were there.

These are the beds they slept on. I hear they are as small as they look!

USS Lexington Pt. 1

These are some pictures of Tyler's cub scout trip to the USS Lexington.

I don't know why this is underlined to bear with me - I just picked some random pictures and don't really know the story behind them, just thought you would enjoy seeing them!

I think they are looking at the ocean

So excited to be here - he is with his best friend, Eric

Pinewood Derby

Tyler's Cub Scout troop recently had their annual Pinewood Derby

This is Tyler's car. The story behind the car is Taylor was going to enter it in the cub buddy's. But, Tyler had lost his car (imagine that!) so she have him her car. Believe me, it was a rare moment of sisterly/brotherly love!

This is Tyler getting his ribbon. He got third place in design. He did on one of the races get in third place and got to move onto the next round!

This is Tyler with his den after getting their awards.

My new hairdo!

Last night as I was reading Shelby her books for school, the girls decided to do my hair. As you can see, they were busy. They put in every and I mean every hair bow in my hair along with about a gallon of hair spray. They had a great time doing it!

Here are the artists!
At Shelby and Tyler's school at their birthday, their teachers take them up on stage and give them a birthday blessing and a bible verse. We did Shelby's at the beginning of January. This is what her blessing said:

Shelby
Its your birthday
And you're just so sweet
There's no one else like you
You can't be beat.

You are made of lots of sugar
And a whole lot of spice
Your are thoughtful of everyone
You are nice, nice, nice.

You are such fun to teach
And you always play fair
A cuter girl you couldn't find
Even if we looked everywhere.

So happy birthday to you
Have lots of birthday fun
May all your birthday wishes come true
Even if you have a ton!

"God's wisdom begins with a holy life. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings."

James 3:17
